Our engine is based on chemical profiles and thousands of sommelier data points. It analyzes the grape variety, region, and vintage. A 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet has a specific DNA of acidity and texture – the AI recognizes this structure and mathematically matches it with the aromas of your dish.
2What if my personal taste is completely different?
You are the final authority. In the Pro version, you can personalize your profile (e.g., "I don't like harsh tannins"). The app learns with each pairing and filters suggestions so they fit not just your food, but especially you.
3Is the photo scanner reliable even in low light at the restaurant?
Yes. Our OCR technology is optimized to read even handwritten menus or dark wine cellars. If a name is extremely illegible, the AI helps through "Fuzzy Matching" to correctly identify the most likely wine anyway.
4Does the app always recommend only the most expensive wines?
On the contrary. The app is neutral and not involved in restaurant revenue. You can set your budget (e.g., "under CHF 50"). The AI then searches for "Best Value" – the wine that delivers the best pairing result in your price range.
