What is the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse?

The Grand Prix du Vin Suisse (GPVS) is organised jointly by the wine magazine VINUM and the VINEA association and is considered Switzerland's most prestigious wine award. Every year, wineries from all parts of the country submit their wines – from Chasselas from Vaud and Pinot Noir from Graubünden to Merlot from Ticino. An expert jury tastes blind and awards gold and silver medals in categories such as Chasselas, Pinot Noir, Gamay, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, rosé, sparkling wines and blends.

The best six wines of each category are nominated for the category title – the winners are traditionally crowned at the autumn gala.
